Change is the Only Constant: A Morning Meditation on Evolution and BLK + GRN’s Next Chapter

This morning’s meditation gave me a simple yet profound reminder: change is the only constant. It’s one of those truths we hear often, but rarely sit with long enough to feel in our bones. In a still moment, I felt the full weight of that reality — that change is inevitable. And that when we resist it, we suffer.

We often get trapped in the illusion of time and space, clinging to memories or anxieties that don’t exist anywhere but in our minds. The past is gone. The future hasn’t arrived. And yet we relive old traumas or play and replay our happiest memories, trying to squeeze more life from something that no longer lives outside of us.

The truth is: there is only now.

And in the now, change is always happening.

When we try to resist change — when we dig our heels into the ground, hold tight to what was, or stay committed to identities or strategies that no longer serve us — we suffer. We become rigid when the moment calls for fluidity. But life is asking us to evolve. Not to abandon who we are, but to grow into the next version of ourselves.

That’s what’s happening with BLK + GRN.

This moment of change — internal and external — has spurred a transformation.

We’re no longer just a marketplace of non-toxic personal care products created by Black women. That was our beginning, but it was never meant to be our limit. The next chapter of BLK + GRN is one of expansion — into a full ecosystem of natural, intentional living. This means:

• Products not just made for and by Black women, but also by and for Black men
  

• Jewelry, clothing, plants, seeds and artwork made with purpose
  

• Curated tools, books, and recommendations for healing and growth
  

• Resources that support not just our bodies, but our minds and spirits
  

• And a deeper commitment to non-toxic living in every aspect of life
  
  

We are evolving because that is what nature does. That is what life demands. We are learning how to change with change — not reluctantly or stubbornly, but intentionally and with grace.

So let this be your reminder, too:

Don’t resist the shift.

Don’t stay loyal to versions of yourself or your business or your relationships that no longer reflect your truth.

Change isn’t just inevitable — it’s a gift.

And when we embrace it fully, we grow into something even more aligned, more powerful, and more free.
