This week, we're talking to Catrina who, as a lifetime lover of wellness, got fed up with the conventional products that were available for sensitive skin and created her own holistic product line, Urban Serenité .

BLK+GRN: Who are you and why do you do what you do?

CATRINA: Hi, my name is Catrina, owner of Urban Serenité. I have been passionate about the realm of beauty and wellness for as long as I can remember. After years of experiencing skin problems as a result of using conventional products that were harsh on my sensitive skin, I realized it was time for a change. I decided to take matters into my own hands and learn everything I could about holistic skincare and wellness. BLKGRN: What was your "Aha Moment" and when did your vision start to manifest? CATRINA: Soon after embarking upon my wellness journey, I completed numerous Herbal and Apothecary courses. Before I knew it, I was creating planet-protecting products with purpose and intentions.

CATRINA: Buying black is essential to building wealth within the black community. We must support black businesses to keep black dollars circulating within the black community.

BLK+GRN: How is your brand green? Why was this important to you? CATRINA: The integrity of our products is of the purest quality with effective performance results. We protect our customers by providing products that are free from harmful fillers, synthetic substances, parabens, mineral oil, artificial fragrances and dyes, animal testing, petroleum, aluminum, chemicals, and GMOs. We formulate with non-toxic, 100% natural, almost entirely organic ingredients and Fairtrade ingredients whenever possible. We use only recyclable and reusable glass containers and sustainable minimal packaging. It is imperative to me because it is my due diligence for customer satisfaction and advocacy to spread green skin health and wellness awareness.
