At BLK + GRN (pronounced Black and Green), we never bring in junk—only joy. From day one, we’ve been committed to curating products that are safe for our bodies, kind to the planet, and good for our communities.
If it’s not sustainably made, plant-based, or cruelty-free, it doesn’t belong in our homes, on our melanin, or in our self-care routines. The beauty industry has long fallen short of protecting consumers: while the European Union has banned or restricted over 1,500 harmful chemicals, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has prohibited only 11. That’s why BLK + GRN was created—to be a trusted space where wellness and integrity coexist.
Now, we’re expanding that same commitment to clothing and jewelry. As part of our sustainability standard, every artisan must meet our guidelines for ethical sourcing, eco-friendly materials, and mindful production. That means slow fashion made from natural or recycled fibers, jewelry crafted from responsibly sourced metals, and design practices that honor both people and the planet.

Our commitment to non-toxic living began with research showing that personal care products with harmful chemicals—are disproportionately marketed to Black people. Studies have revealed higher levels of toxic exposure in products marketed to Black women and men, from hair products to body care. These findings fueled our mission to create a safe space where every product is made with intention, integrity, and wellness in mind.
